A decade ago no one would have imagined the impact social media would have on society. What started out as a place for teens to congregate and start virtual friendships has turned into a billion dollar juggernaut for companies both big and small. In this day and age to have a business without a social media footprint leaves you to many as old and obsolete.
Who would have thought in the days of MySpace that having a Facebook page was a necessity for your business or brand. So many more individuals will visit your social media page before they even think about going to your website. Social media ratings are more important today than any other ratings. In order to stand out amongst your competition having good ratings is an absolute necessity.
Having a social media footprint is not only important but also having a strategy. Alot of companies both big and small start social media pages and throw everything up there leading to what I like to call "social media spam". Imagine every time your audience sees a posting that's the same thing all day long every day. At some point they will begin to tune out your postings and the effectiveness of those postings diminishes.
Having a social media strategy is key to any companies success in this over saturated social media landscape. What causes your brand to stand out? Why should I pay attention or buy your product?
Developing a strategy is key and without that strategy it will determine "success or failure".
